You can bet money the England Test and all the Afghan series gets cancelled or "postponed" indefinitely in the official wording. The Test in Ireland is probably safe, but the ones in ZIM will likely get cancelled due to financial reasons.
I'd imagine the safe series are those vs BD, SL, and NZ. Thats quality opposition for Zimbabwe to gauge their progress.

The one in Ireland is probably the most likely of all to be cancelled tbhKriterion_BD wrote: ↑Wed Dec 27, 2023 6:57 amYou can bet money the England Test and all the Afghan series gets cancelled or "postponed" indefinitely in the official wording. I wonder how much it costs to host a test match in Ireland? The ICC need to do something about this. The test fund was such a noble idea
If we do by some miracle plan on playing all those test matches then it makes sense for Craig and Williams to continue. They will have something to look forward to. The one I actually think will happen is the England one

Their CEO said in 2019 it cost them about 1 million euros to host a Test in Dublin.TapsC2 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 27, 2023 9:29 amI wonder how much it costs to host a test match in Ireland? The ICC need to do something about this. The test fund was such a noble idea

They've been looking at playing Tests at English grounds so maybe thats an option for our supposed match but ya I I will eat my hat if it happens. 14 Tests in the next two years? We can dream.

The ICC dish out money and then get most of it back, but it gets disbursed to their mates, essentially laundering their cash

I don't understand how Afghanistan are OK playing against UAE, and this is the second time they are playing bilaterals against them in less than 6 months but not against Zimbabwe!
Anyways, except for the games against the Afghans, I think all other series' in the FTP will most likely happen, but that is still not a good FTP. Need more fixtures and I hope ZCB can organize games against some top associates like Net, Sco, Nep, Oma, UAE and Nam. Will help a lot.

I think that fixtures against the UAE are part of the agreement for them to host Afghanistan's home games there.sam_ahm wrote: ↑Wed Dec 27, 2023 2:19 pmI don't understand how Afghanistan are OK playing against UAE, and this is the second time they are playing bilaterals against them in less than 6 months but not against Zimbabwe!

Absolutely agreed that Zim should also have a bunch of games against the top associates as well. Even if these are A-team/development fixtures rather than full internationals.

Yeah, UAE learnt not to be pushovers after the Pakistan thing. Pakistan brought the crowds as compensation, Afghanistan weren't on that level so they settled for bilateral series
