Honestly it's tiring seeing the same old names recycled.
The only ‘old names’ being recycled in this squad are Kaia and Tiripano and they’ve had decent seasons. The rest of the squad is pretty fresh, isn’t it?

The only other young guy who deserves to be selected and hasn’t been is probably Munyonga.

I presume they’ll pick quite a different squad for the 2nd game. The likes of Ervine, Gumbie, Munyonga, Wellington, Jongwe, maybe Williams if he’s back etc will probably play the 2nd game.

Tiripano is 35 years old.

Michael chinouya is being brought into the 'A SIDE' for the 2nd match.

Michael chinouya is 37/38 🤨🤨

A couple of surprises in that squad. Was expecting to see Kaia, he is the A team captain after all so you would expect him to be selected.

This is the 11 I’d go for game 1:

Welch
Mpofu
Bennett
Shumba
Hamid
Campbell
Kaia (C)
Madande (wk)
Tiripano
Musoko
Nyauchi

Could probably think about a spinner in that 11 for 1 of the bats, probably Ndlovu. I think this team needs to bat deep though to try and save face. Campbell, kaia and Mpofu can cover the spin options. It won’t make a difference anyway no way we are bowling them out for less than 500 with that bowling attack.

Both deserve their places in this team based on this seasons performance, it’s good to see.

Tiripano is the only seam bowling allrounder that has actually done something.

Yeah agree with this, it’s good to see reward for performances for Tiripano, kaia to an extent but he is the a captain.

Really surprised about Munyonga, he has had a great season and usually gets his chances. What has Makoni done this season??

I would give Chataira a go personally. Saw him briefly when zimbabwe under 25 beat Uganda and he was rapid.

I agree it isn’t ideal picking them in an A squad. But in the other hand we have almost no other bowling options tbh.

Chinouya is a fine bowler and still quicker than most bowlers in Zim despite his age

I like him but he hasn’t been great when he has played this season (difficult conditions haven’t helped) I would prefer he didn’t get smacked around the park by Durham though that’s the worry.

Anyone have an idea who will be in the Durham line-up?

For sure they will be without Wood, Stokes. I doubt they will have de Leede and Beddingham. Otherwise, you'd have thought most will be there. Matt Potts was a real handful last year.
