Becsuse gender is a social construct and sex is an actual genetic thing. So when rightie whitiey tries to argue that gender cannot be changed, what they are really referring to is the X and Y chromosomes. Your chromosomes can’t be changed. Your gender role, identity etc is totally arbitrary.

It’s like if a lay person confuses temperature with heat. They aren’t the same thing and they are not synonymous.
