I like that Gumbie has upped the strike rate in these games.
Also interesting to see that Mavuta has been coming in at 3, which i reckon is a very smart move for himself.

I also liked that about Gumbie. Perfect platform for him to gain some confidence. In the T20s he played against Bangladesh he just wasn't finding the gaps.

Mavuta is like Jongwe where he can genuinely bat but just didnt progress enough. I'm surprised to see Faraz batting much lower than him in the same team

Important to remember the NPL is essentially club cricket.

The longer version of the NPL literally had 30 emerging players removed from it as they were part of touring sides.

Players like Craig averaged 21 over 6 games against club level bowling.

Burl hasnt lit up the competition either, but apparantly calling this out at click bait when saying he is out of form.

Lets not get too excited about seasoned pro's doing just above average at best in the NPL. They really should be dominating, yet they arent.

Taruvinga, Muchawaya, Banks, Kaitano are who are really showing strength which is crucial for the future of our game.

I don't see Craig playing much longer to be honest. Age has caught up with him. I think the test matches are what's keeping him interested and that is perfectly fine. I think he will be a very good addition to the admin actually. They like him too. He is older than Elton and Elton retired 4 years ago

I am almost certain that Williams and Ervine both call it a day after the England Test. Or maybe one of the home tests scheduled in Zim just after that.

Absolutely no guarantee Craig gets a role in ZC. Yes they like him because he’s been a good contributor as a player and never really fell out with them. But look at some of the other guys approaching retirement - Chamu, Richmond, Maruma, Shingi. They are way more likely to look after them and give them a cozy job for life.

And I’m sure when Sean retires he will disappear into obscurity, probably of his own choosing, and will very much enjoy never having any association with ZC ever again.

Williams actually said in interview not long ago that he could retire comfortably when ever he wanted, and that he was playing still because of his love for the game. It was around the time his dad died

No chance, in my opinion. Doubt either will play in 2026 let alone 2027. Others will disagree though.
