Re: Zim Afro T10
Does anyone actually know the full story!! I don’t think it’s as black and white (no pun intended) as you may think. Sounds to me like he was thrown under the bus in England. Can’t believe you’d even question getting him back, even if he did leave at the wrong time!!

Don’t get me wrong - he is quality. Or was. Not doubting his immense talent and ability and experience - head and shoulders above almost everyone else in the country.
But he hasn’t touched a cricket ball for years. Surely he won’t be as good as before. And that’s even if he has sorted his head and issues out. If he’s still good then fine, I’d take him back. But I can’t believe ZC will.
As for Donald’s post about needing him for the next qualifiers. Well, if we are relying on a 35 year old twice-retired washed up addict who hasn’t played for two years in order for us to beat Togo, Somalia and St Helena then I reckon we are in even deeper shit than we thought
Our banana skins Uganda and namibia.
If he is serious and still has goofs he is a shoe in.
My point is if he wanted to come back and is still good enough then he can't just be parachuted into the 2027 one day world cup squad. He needs to ensure some boxes are ticked first. Example being ensure zim qualify for 20/20 World cup
This is all hypothetical at moment anyway
Re: Zim Afro T10
He’s got literally zero credit in the bank to be parachuted in. He should have been doing the hard yards with SOGO Rhodesians, looking for a franchise gig if he was serious.

Oh he was definitely thrown under the bus, big time.Terryalderman wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 8:31 amDoes anyone actually know the full story!! I’d take him back if he is still capable, although that is questionable.
Re: Zim Afro T10
Ya, totally. Tim Bresnan and Hales Dawg were embroiled and continued playing. Michael Vaughan returned to his punditry gig once the dust settled. Easier to get rid of the outsider and look after your own. Same thing happened with KP after that 2013/14 ashes debacle.
Re: Zim Afro T10
Joe Root’s involvement is totally being protected
Re: Zim Afro T10
Michael Fost played a number of games for the Tuskers this week. I wonder if we will see him in franchise cricket this year.

Re: Zim Afro T10
By my count there are about 24 non-black, Zim-qualified players potentially vying for playing time this season, not including PJ, Byrom and any overseas.
Faraz Akram, Sikandar Raza, Ali Hamid, Ali Aqil (?), Ronak Patel (?), Antum Naqvi, Awad Naqvi (?), Craig Ervine, Sean Williams, Ryan Burl, Brad Evans, Benjamin Banks (?), Johnathan Campbell, Matthew Campbell (?), Brandon James, Alistair Frost, Michael Frost (?), Jayden Schadendorf, Dane Schadendorf (?), Ben Curran, Nick Welch, Matt Welch, Gary Ballance (?), Brian Bennett
