Kaitano in T20 squad? What i'm missing

Re: Afghanistan Tour of Zimbabwe Thread
Mavuta has been dropped.
Not convinced Curran will play in the first ODI. Choice between him and Gumbie basically.

After Chatara became captain, i thought Nick would play the T20 matches against Afghanistan. But now he is not in any of the whiteball squads.
Their hate against him is unreal.

ZIMBABWE T20I SQUAD:
Sikandar Raza (captain), Faraz Akram, Brian Bennett, Ryan Burl, Trevor Gwandu, Takudzwanashe Kaitano, Wessly Madhevere, Tinotenda Maposa, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Wellington Masakadza, Tashinga Musekiwa, Blessing Muzarabani, Dion Myers, Richard Ngarava, Newman Nyamhuri
ZIMBABWE ODI SQUAD:
Craig Ervine (captain), Brian Bennett, Ben Curran, Joylord Gumbie, Trevor Gwandu, Tinotenda Maposa, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Wellington Masakadza, Tashinga Musekiwa, Blessing Muzarabani, Dion Myers, Richard Ngarava, Newman Nyamhuri, Victor Nyauchi, Sikandar Raza, Sean Williams
Akram only in T20 squad.
Burl only in T20 squad
Persevering with Musekiwa and Gwandu in both.
Nyamhuri in both squads.
Kaitano in the T20 He's a good player though. I rate him.
Maposa in both squads
Madhevere would surely be better off in the ODI squad?
Nyauchi in the ODI squad
Williams Ervine and Raza in the ODI squad.
That will be an interesting batting line-up.

Ya dunno how they're going to choose that 50 over line-up.
Curran, Joylord, Ervine, Williams, Raza, Bennett, Marumani, Masakadza ......
Where does Myers fit in?

Wes, Faraz, Musekiwa, Gwandu et al still getting selected. Give me strength.
I rate Nyamhuri a lot but his selection already is also insane. Even more ridiculous than picking Maposa.

Partly aimed at Mangongo I would think.Marshmallow wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 12:02 pmAfter Chatara became captain, i thought Nick would play the T20 matches against Afghanistan. But now he is not in any of the whiteball squads.

They offered the captaincy to Maruma for the List A and he refused point blank. Solid man with principles.
Then offered it to Chatara for this game who took it.

He may have been under duress to take it, but it would have been a lot better if he'd also refused it, NW was doing a winning job.
