I agree that Tamim is a very good player, but I don't like seeing these sort of statements in the media. I think it's really arrogant and pretty unprofessional to put down fellow players in such a way.

I enjoy aggressive people not these rehersed statements that people say to the media. Stuff like, 'we have to put away bad balls, be patient, take it one ball at a time, do the basics right.' Why bother to interview players when we know most of the things they are going to say. I love cricket when its full of sledging, bouncers, challenges etc. I think Tamim just livened up this series now we are all looking forward to the ODIs with extra eagerness.

Wouldn't mind it if talked up his own game rather than trash talk someone elses that is disrespectful.

Tamim got what he deserved. I also like aggression. The way he said some players ordinary is nowhere near decency. You need to show respect to your opponents. It's ok saying "we will win". About jarvis he said "not extra ordinary". I can get away with it. But about Vitori he directly said "ordinary bowler". What the hell on earth you would say that?

During Jamie Siddons era, some of our players got more favor from him and got the license to do anything. While some other players were not given their deserved fair treatment. I hope Law will bring an end to this. He seems to have started already.

It's nice to know that Zimbabwe is now good enough to qualify for trash talk. If Bangladeshi players are getting involved in bad-mouthing the Zimbabweans it means there must be a certain amount of respect there. Players rarely get involved in slagging matches with weak opponents.

I agree. I think he is hurting. It reminded me of Richie Richardson after Steve Waugh had just taken away his empire.

I dont know wht people have gone to town with what Tamim has said. What the diferrence with sledging on the park? I think this is all part of cricket. I would like our players to be that upfront and BACK it up. Tamim WILL back himself up he always does! And thats what will make the odi series more exciting. I think we are becoming over sympathetic to the players. They ar Pros and they expect that. if thats how Tamim gets his juices going so be it. Vitori must come back with the ball and with a couple of words for Tamim and a HUGE send off when he gets him out!

True that bayhauz, Tamim aint said nothing bad. He only made things interesting which is the whole concept of the game. I think to journalists and fans this is exactly what we need to hear. These guys say a lot of nasty things to each other on the pitch. Talked to Mpofu about whether Zim players sledge or not. He was telling me that everytime they got Warner out somebody would tell him to 'f** off' in return he called Ervine 'a retard with holding a bat.' They do it all the time Tamim only sledged in public but i dont see nothing wrong with that.

I did actually. Just reading a statement can be misleading. Maybe he meant: "I'm Tamim and I have tamed the greatest bowlers in this universe, and while you think yourselves very blessed to have unearthed two decent quicks where you had none before they are not Dale Steyn, Brett Lee or James Anderson." Still bullish but not as derisive as it has been made out to be.
