Re: Dear Forumites(Manicaland Developement Plan)
I live in Chimanimani and i am so happy you have begun this initiative. The timing is just perfect with our province is now cash rich we might even get one of the diamond or the green fuels plant and associated companies to sponsor the Mountaineers and the junior grass roots cricket . The challenge that you will face is getting infrastructure such as grounds and nets key in development. Another challenge is competing with traditional sports that have a hectic following such as soccer.

I like the idea of 100 overs in a day. That will toughen them up.
Re: Dear Forumites(Manicaland Developement Plan)
ideal scenario would be that you get all schools constituting a cricket team.they be playing in competition in district level at both primary and secondary level then top two schools at each district to be involved in a competition in the manicaland province.there you can identify best talents and get them to say mountaineers age group teams.sponsors be key in these tournaments .if you somehow can urge govt to make this competition necessary and with the help of some little sponsors you can achieve that .you can have lot of kids in your province playing beautiful sport.Flower power wrote:Dear Forumites
At the current moment I am drafting a development plan for development of Cricket in Manicaland .
This is a chance that you and I can make a positive and a significant change in the players that are going
to come through the Zimbabwe channel in 5-10 years time .
I hope you can input positive ideas that can be useful
eg structures , sponsorships , scholarships etc
