CI confirm PJ Moor return at Belmont

The reigning NCU champions have announced the capture of Britton and Steven Clarke of Brigade and confirmed that PJ Moor, the Zimbabwean all-rounder, will be their overseas professional this summer. The trio will join Coleraine fast bowler Stephen Dunn at Belmont.
Moor, the 22-year-old Midwest Rhinos player, will return to Belmont fully fit having been hampered by an ankle injury last season. He is expected to press his claims for NCU Knights and Ireland Development squads. He qualifies for Ireland in January 2014 having captained Zimbabwe in ICC U-19 World Cup in January 2010.
Moor will also work alongside new club captain and youth development officer Taimur Khan, and club coaches Michael Hingston and Phil Smith, on the coaching end.

**sigh**, going down the gary Ballance route. How are we expected to be competitive at international level if our home grown talents are leaving. Look no further than Ryan Burl and Malcolm Lake! Probably the two best batters in the under 19's side, and they gone!

You look at the those last 2 U19 sides, and they performed dismally. Zim need to absolutely maximise the very limited amount of talent available, and are nowhere near good enough to afford to lose prospects. The levels of quality coming through at that level are probably lower than many associates when you consider the number of drop outs. This is why it is going to be a real struggle for Zim to ever compete seriously with the top national sides. It will be an achievement for Zim to maintain 10th position in the world...

You know you're doomed when an Associate side is being seen as a better draw than a Full Member Test nation.

I've long advocated for some form of vow of allegiance
Anyway, all of this will be a thing of the past soon. Not only due to the ECB's change in laws, but also the fact that ZC must surely be closed to plugging such holes conclusively.
It seems like we are not the only ones as Aus' stagnating progress has has caused some to be drawn by the lustre of the usually mediocre English.hhm wrote:SO WHAT IS THIS CHAOS?
That entirely depends on whether one believes it is there, if not it soon shall. I only hope that I am not misunderstood. Whilst acknowledging the implications of the unfavourable conditions which prevailed for a period, progress has been and continues to be made, and racial integration has been embraced. No doubt everyone is entitled to how they want to live their life and undertake their careers and means of sustenance, but that white players continue to side-line national responsibilities while chasing uncertainties to represent other nations is unbearable and unforgivable.
Credit should be given to the likes of Taylor, Waller and Craig Ervine, while exception can also be made towards the likes Sean Ervine who are a little bit older now and probably have family commitments. But what of Ireland, Ballance, de Grandhomme and Cameron? Were it not for selection to represent Zimbabwean junior teams would they be where they are now? I strongly doubt it. Yet they 'raped' the system to their personal benefit.
It’s not to say that their black peers are/were inferior, for the majority delivered better performances and achieved greater recognition in those junior tournaments. What dictated the course of fortune was colour, contacts and status in life. On the one hand one has the talent, means and knows the right people, while being of the right colour to fit into the English cricket system (which in itself is not at all dominated by black people of British descent), while on the other hand one has talent and nothing else! All of this evokes the desire for a strict preference to develop and expose black players, since they will bear with what lies ahead for their nation. Perhaps a clause should be included stating that all players black or white, who represent Zimbabwe at U19 level, and sign up for any franchise in domestic cricket, will never be allowed to enter into any contract which puts any cricket commitments outside of this country ahead of national commitments.
In that case it will be evident that any individual or individual’s parents who refuse that kind of arrangement has selfish or insincere objectives and thus does not deserve the time and effort which will be invested in him under the banner of Zimbabwe. A lot of people take it for granted that they have grown out of a cricketing nation which is a Full Member and that brings along many benefits which should be maintained or improved upon to ensure that future generations can benefit as well. I just wonder how many of the whites who played in the 2008 and 2010 under 19 World Cups who will in the next 5 years be creating similar dilemas despite having little significant to complain about. If the bone of contention is about money or contracts then it must also mean that the black players(and some of the white players) who are still here must have a far much lower view of themselves and their worth in comparison. Keep in mind that the Irish have no Test status, and the Saffers have plenty of quality to throw around while England has little apparently!
Anyway, all of this will be a thing of the past soon. Not only due to the ECB's change in laws, but also the fact that ZC must surely be closed to plugging such holes conclusively.

didnt somebody post that PJ Moor was treated like crap at the eagles by mangongo?
No ones bringing it up lately... butit goes 2 ways... if you want the white talent to stop leaving you have to treat them well and stop using them as scapegoats and the like. Can you blame a white guy for leaving at the moment? A few in the setup, and fans really are making them feel unwelcome. It seems that racism is ok if directed at a white person

Lake left the same day Sam Kurran left, both headed for the UK.

Although I believe that he actually has an Irish passport, which explains why this avenue is open to him.
And before this thread goes off into yet another tedious, race-based excuse for a debate... There are countless black players who have left the game prematurely in the last few years as well. Chitongo, Mufambisi, Mahlunge, Ngulube, Samunderu, Aliseni, Mazhawidza... Many of these simply went to Uni in SA, but will any of them return? And after a few years out of professional cricket, will they be any good if they do?

Re: PJ Moor possibly looking to play for Ireland
I do have a couple of questions to ask on this, the first is
Who the hell is Alistair Bushe
Is he a world renowned sports reporter ?, is he a close friend of Moor ?, is he psychic ?, how does he know what Moor intends to do, is going to do, maybe think about doing ?
He may well be a know nothing troll who's added 2 and 2 to make 7390726548.07, so why does everyone get on their high horse and set off to the ZC funeral ?, obviously blacks to sit on one side and whites on the other during the service
Shouldn't there actually be some FACTS before the same old stuff comes out on here ?
Or am i just being picky
