PJ Moor possibly looking to play for Ireland
Re: PJ Moor possibly looking to play for Ireland
Things will become clearer this year. If the reactionaries prevail, things will go south. If not, then there is some hope.

If Mangongo is appointed there will be a mass exodus. I already get the sense that Taylor has had enough of it all and will be on his way out after the WI tour, particularly once Mangongo is announced as the next coach.Jemisi wrote:Things will become clearer this year. I get that feeling too. He's now a well established cricketer, who could make a serious wage playing T20 Cricket around the world, and could perhaps land a county contract. Zimbabwe need him more than he needs Zimbabwe.eugene wrote:If Mangongo is appointed there will be a mass exodus. Just pray that Mangongo isn't the coach.

Sam Currans gone too?sloandog wrote:ZIMDOGGY wrote:i have heard this before but where is it said they have bailed?sloandog wrote:**sigh**, going down the gary Ballance route. How are we expected to be competitive at international level if our home grown talents are leaving. Look no further than Ryan Burl and Malcolm Lake! Probably the two best batters in the under 19's side, and they gone!
Lake left the same day Sam Kurran left, both headed for the UK.
I have seen his stats in the vigne cup though?
this is a disaster and seriously we dont have much hope going forward. its a miracle that the majority of the players we want (the taylors, williams, sibandas etc) are still there to form the nucleus of the squad. this generation (the late 20s) is the last competant bunch.
ZC cannot manage their affairs plain and simple. they must be dissolved.
In Australia players retire in their 30s when they feel the time is right after a long and fruitful career..
in india they retire around 40 when they can notr andle it any more and the selectors wield the axe...
in zimbabwe players retire when they get a full time job.

I Shouldn't laugh, but it's ridiculously true. It's frustrating that Zimbabwe cricket is always a mess.ZIMDOGGY wrote:in zimbabwe players retire when they get a full time job.

Thought of another couple. Mire and Kasteni. Could probably come up with a pretty decent XI! I'm sure there are plenty of others who I have forgotten as well...aydee wrote:
And before this thread goes off into yet another tedious, race-based excuse for a debate... There are countless black players who have left the game prematurely in the last few years as well. Chitongo, Mufambisi, Mahlunge, Ngulube, Samunderu, Aliseni, Mazhawidza... Many of these simply went to Uni in SA, but will any of them return? And after a few years out of professional cricket, will they be any good if they do?
