[Match Thread] Pro50 & Logan Cup: Rhinos v Mountaineers
Re: [Match Thread] Pro50 & Logan Cup: Rhinos v Mountaineers
Much needed hundred from Waller. His average is very good by Zim standards, but his conversion rate is poor.

Good game developing here, if the Mountaineers can set the Rhinos around 260 to win on the last day it could be a good finish

Is there a silver lining to Forster's slump in form? He's still got a healthy average on par with Waller and more FC centuries (11) than any other middle order pretender. I can't help thinking that promoting him to open in Tests had eroded his confidence, and then Mangongo probably shattered it completely last season at the Eagles. The Mountaineers dressing room is a rather better enviroment to start your rehab.
A few guys have overtaken Forster in the pecking order, but who knows what the future holds.
... and yes, we could be in for a tight finish tomorrow. Mushangwe must be itching to tonk the Rhino's slow bowlers back over the club house.

Have to applaud that century from Mutizwa, one of the few players this season prepared to guts out an innings.

A couple of very gutsy knocks this season to come out of that disastrous rut he got himself into over the last couple of seasons. All too happy that the Tuskers offered him a new home in the Phantom Draftzimfan1 wrote:Have to applaud that century from Mutizwa, one of the few players this season prepared to guts out an innings.
And Shingi the impact player has come to the party in this match after a few quiet matches, hitting form towards the end of the season. Has removed the very important Vusi Sibanda. With the in-form Waller and Wadlan out there and Moor and Trenchard to come, it is still Rhinos with the upper hand. Can the Goats inspire a win from here?
What is the injury with Tino? How bad is it? His inspirational captaincy might be missed today.

Needed that wicket badly. Brothers Masakadza coming together to get the praised wicket of Waller. But Wadlan is blazing away at the other end. Tiripano and Mupunga not looking very effective. Mountaineers missing Chatara here as Shingi's spell enters 9th over.

Come on the Rhinos, chance for Moor to overcome his bad run of form

Goats are all over this, Tiripano backing Shingi up.

Can't see Rhinos winning this short of another Trenchard century.

What maddening domination through the season, great win guys, Mountaineers are the champions by a distance. But what a nice match to finish the season, Rhinos tried everything and kept going for it till the last wicket. Tiripano and Mupunga did come to the party after all, and probably the result of the match would have been different if Waller had farmed the strike better in the first dig, as some of you suggested.
Nonetheless, this is a sweet victory, and hope we get a double come the Pro50 final
