NPL 2023
Re: NPL 2023
EU observers deemed the LBW call as the most ludicrous ever. Zanu spokesperson said no ZC only employ umpires of the upmost integrity. Stalemate ensued and the green label and broncos were cracked open early.

According to the scorecard Kadoma ‘forfeited the game’ after half an hour at 30/3 against Amakhosi?!
Strange as Kadoma were favourites with Mavuta back in the side. Must have been some scenes for it to be abandoned with a forfeit.
From the official ZC press release:
Kadoma – 30-3 in 4.1 overs (Terrence Makoroma 16, Bright Matsiwe 5, Nyasha Mayavo 1; Tinotenda Maposa 2/9, Ernest Masuku 1/20)
Amakhosi –
Match abandoned (Kadoma forfeited)
There was an unfortunate scene at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on Saturday when Kadoma forfeited their NPL match against Amakhosi.
Kadoma were put in to bat and were soon in trouble.
Two wickets fell in quick succession at 30, and the next man in, Brandon Mavuta, was caught unprepared.
He was too late to appear at the wicket and after he was given ‘timed out’, he allegedly refused to leave the field, eventually forcing the umpires to call off play and award the match to Amakhosi.
Disciplinary proceedings have since commenced.
If anyone sees or hears anything please share! No response from the two Kadoma blokes I’ve asked![]()

Some good information there fella. Timed out is an odd and rare dismissal.
He should have been padded up and ready to go the rate those wickets were falling.

Re: NPL 2023
That’s very disappointing from a senior pro like Mavuta
Re: NPL 2023
Probably downing a quick bronco in the changing room when that third wicket fell. Agree mate, very disappointing.
